Nicky is an amazing and good bitch. She was adopted into a family that seemed normative. They were expecting a baby and promised to do everything for her. Let them take care of her. That they will never abandon. It has been several years since the adoption and they called and wanted to return it.
But ... instead of 4 legs they brought it back with only 2 functioning legs.
It is very common for them to let a dog roam free in a city. So they released her to walk alone .. and then she was run over ... they did not even know she was run over .. who knows how long a trampled lay helpless, because of criminal irresponsibility.
And then .. when the "toy" broke down .. throwing ..
She underwent a complete resection of one leg and one more leg is not functioning at all.
Of course as soon as we heard about Vicki's abandonment, we ran to pick her up for us, when we got to pick her up "from the family" the husband said goodbye to her with a swell to the back and said "the girl sure will miss but life changes. Bye" ._ cc781905-5cde-3194
We tried to find in this family, which was hers, a drop of affection, a drop of caring, a drop of sadness in her abandonment .. but there was only relief.
"It's hard to deal with a two-legged bitch," they said.

Vicki broke our hearts. We sat down next to her, hugged her and quietly wiped away the tears.

After lots of warmth and love, medical care, follow-up and perseverance, our Nicky steps on the rocking back leg, she jumps on it, runs and even stands on only two hind legs! (But that, only if you hold a snack).
