Minnie
The Story of Minnie
Meet our little Minnie.
She lived with an elderly woman with impaired vision in Be'er Sheva. The woman's sons took Minnie out when they visited; the rest of the time, she stayed in the yard.
One day Minnie went out alone, was apparently hit by a vehicle and returned home struggling along on her front legs. Her owner did not notice the change. But when one of her sons visited, he saw that Minnie did not run to greet him. She was in severe pain, pulling herself from side to side using only her front legs.
He contacted us immediately, explaining that his mother could no longer care for her. Our volunteer Ido brought Minnie to the farm.
At our clinic, Minnie underwent numerous X-rays and thorough examinations. She had a broken spine, multiple injuries to her legs and pelvis, and recurring urinary tract infections following the injury. The diagnosis was clear: Minnie would never walk on all four legs independently again.
Yet Minnie is happy and active. All she needs is for someone to put her in her wheelchair.
